My Firsthand Kidnap Experience ✈
If I tell you guys that my international passport has so many stamps, you will think I am walking by faith and not by sight, but I am really just a low-key person that loves traveling. I have been to so many countries that I have lost count. If you are still doubting, you are the problem, and you need to work on yourself. I have so many beautiful artifacts that I have stored from all the countries I have visited. If you are still acting like Thomas, send me a message after reading this for the pictures. If you trust me never to lie to you, read on, baby. ππ§‘.
Let me give you guys a backstory of how I started traveling from country to country. It started as an uninterested and indifferent relationship. There was this group of people that I never liked. I wouldn't say I never really liked them; I was just not interested in whatever they were doing, but they were always in my face. Everywhere I went, I saw them and heard people talk about them. It was so annoying. However, one fateful day, I decided to just add 5% interest out of curiosity, and I was captured like a thief in the night, bundled, wrapped like a goat, and thrown into a travel bus. I felt a lot of emotions at the same time. I felt confused, scared, excited, angry, and tired because that was my first time being kidnapped; it felt like a scene from a Nollywood movie. After a few hours, I slept off, and I was woken up by the sound of people talking in a language I couldn't understand. It sounded weird but soothing to the ears. I tried wiggling out of the tight ropes I was tied in, but I couldn't break free. Then suddenly, the back door was opened, and a tall, handsome man whose face I couldn't see but I just knew he was handsome by the sound of his voice said "Chulai," which I deduced meant "come out." I came out, and I was greeted by the most beautiful view ever, a beautiful blue sky, market women in beautiful attires that looked embroidered, handsome men!!!, amazing food, and the air felt so relaxing.
That, my beautiful readers, was the scene that played in my head the first time I watched a Chinese drama, which initiated me into a world of Asian culture and traveling from country to country. The people that are close to me might know how I also started writing about Asian culture. After watching my first-ever Chinese drama, I fell in love with the male lead, Dylan Wang. Even though his character wasn't exactly green all through, I loved him still. Like a stalker, I started conducting all manner of research about him. I found out his date of birth, his zodiac sign, where he lives, where he goes to play basketball, his favorite food, his favorite color, his allergies, everything you can think of. I convinced myself that I will one day become his wife, delulu much. By the time the "deluluness" faded, I was already very interested in the culture, their history, food, way of life, language, and almost everything. That interest over time extended to other Asian countries and cultures.
I strongly believe that as beautiful as traveling to different countries to experience all these firsthand is, you can still experience it to a certain level from the corner of your room. Every article I read, every culture I explore, every myth I unravel, and every food I read about gives me the same excitement and comfort I believe traveling gives. If you are an imaginative person like me, you will understand what I mean. It's amazing the number of places and things you can explore just by having a curious and interested mind. So every time you see my blog post, see it as an invitation to travel with me, explore, and learn with me. I don't write about these things because I am bored or jobless; I write about them because they interest me, and I believe they can interest you too.
I have a goal in mind, which is to one day become a travel influencer and a cultural enthusiast, exploring cultures and writing and documenting them so that you all can see, among the other amazing things God will have me do, and I would love every one of you to join me on this journey.
Now, do you believe I travel a lot?
